Gymnastics Signs Martin, Buckmon, Hammer as Part of 2023 Class

Before Maryland: Natalie Martin commits to Maryland as a four-star recruit and has been a standout performer for Buckeye Gymnastics. The Westerville, Ohio native is a 2019 Nastia Luikin Cup Qualifier and a three-time Development Program National Championship competitor, finishing seventh on the uneven bars in 2022.
Martin also earned a first-place finish on floor at the 2022 Ohio State Championship. During the 2022 region five regional competition she finished second in the all-around while earning impressive first and second place finishes for floor and beam.

Layla Hammer
Aurora, Illnois
Metea Valley High School // Legacy Elite Gymnastics
Before Maryland: Layla Hammer comes to Maryland as a four-star recruit after a impressive career at Legacy Elite Gymnastics. The Aurora, Illinois native was a 2020 Nastia Luikin Cup Competitor and two-time DP National Qualifier, finishing eighth on the balance beam in 2022. Hammer has been ranked in the top-100 for beam twice in level 10 and received a third-place finish on beam at the 2022 state competition. She also finished with an outstanding second-place finish on beam and all-around at regionals in 2021.
Hammer is also a standout in the classroom receiving honor roll recognition during her first three years at Metea Valley High School. During free time she also enjoys community service, giving her time with the feed my starving children organization and operation Christmas child to assist kids over the holidays.

Before Maryland: Logan Buckmon signs with the GymTerps as a local three-star recruit and a standout with Hill Gymnastics in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Buckmon is a 2022 DP National competitor and a four-time level 10 regional competitor. During DP National's Buckmon earned an impressive fifth-place on beam and placed 21st in the all-around.
Buckmon has been equally impressive both in the gym and the classroom earning her white coat and certificate in the Project Lead The Way Biomedical program. She has maintained above a 3.7 GPA during all four years of high school and received Principal's Honors twice.
