Nemzer Adds Three More to Top 2023 Class in Big Ten

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Maryland women's soccer head coach Meghan Ryan Nemzer welcomes three new Terps to the top 2023 class in the Big Ten. 
 

Hannah Shapiro, Isabel DiPrima and Juliet Strange look to bring their long list of accolades to College Park as the Terps are coming off of their most successful Big Ten season since 2019. These three new Terps have won multiple state titles at both the high school and club level, captained their teams for multiple years, represent their schools on All-State/All-District teams along with excelling in the classroom.   

 

The trio of new Terps will be joining a decorated incoming freshman class, consisting of two Top-60 prospects in the nation and a Top-25 prospect goalkeeper. This class also includes multiple players that have represented their country at the international level including the United States, Puerto Rican and Jamaican Youth National teams.

Head coach Meg Nemzer: "Hannah is a commanding presence in the middle of the field. Her size and athleticism will help her find success at the Big Ten level. Hannah is a student of the game and is always looking to improve on and off the field. I love Hannah's passion for the game and she will represent UMD and its values to the fullest."

Head coach Meg Nemzer: "We are very excited Isabel is a Terp! She is an incredibly creative midfielder that is special on the dribble. She is dangerous in the attacking 3rd and will come in and create many goals for our team! She is someone who we can count on day in, day out to compete and raise the level in the program. She also plays on an incredibly competitive club team with fellow 2023 Signee Hannah Schapiro."

Personal: Daughter of Jason and Lisa Strange…Sister Joy played college basketball for Thomas More and Mount St. Joseph…Volunteers for youth basketball and soccer camps…Participates in Locks of Love annually.

The Coaches made me feel so important, and you could tell they truly cared about me as not only a player, but a person. She has physical tools that you cannot coach, which will help her thrive in the Big 10. We are extremely excited about Juliet's drive to be the best player she can possibly be!"
