SAINT JOSEPH'S STORYLINES
the headliners
- This year's team is headlined by returning IWLCA All-Americans Grace Griffin and Hannah Leubecker, both earning third-team honors in 2021.
- Griffin was second on the team with 48 points, scoring 29 goals and recording 19 assists, second with 19 caused turnovers and third with 30 groundballs.
- Leubecker led the Maryland offense last season, scoring 58 goals, 23 more than anyone else on the team, the third-most in the Big Ten and the 16th most in the country.
TRANSFER HAUL
- The Terps signed five transfers in the offseason, led by All-Americans Abby Bosco and Aurora Cordingley.
- Both grad transfers, Bosco joins the Terps from Penn and will help lead the Maryland defense while Cordingley joins the Terps from Big Ten foe Johns Hopkins after cementing herself in the Hopkins record books.
- Cordingley is top-10 in Hopkins program Division 1 history in points (182), goals (116) and assists (66).
- Also joining the Terps for 2022 is midfielder Shannon Smith (North Carolina), defender Clandy Rheude (Albany) and midfielder Natalie Pansini (Princeton).
Meet the captains
- Fifth-years Torie Barretta and Grace Griffin were selected as Maryland's 2022 Captains.
- With her selection, Griffin becomes the first ever Terp to be a three-year captain, also being chosen in 2020 & 2021.
- An IWLCA Second Team All-Region and All-Big Ten Tournament Team selection in 2021, Barretta stood second on the team with 19 caused turnovers and fourth on the team with 25 groundballs.

- Maryland is the most successful program in women's lacrosse, having won 15 national championships and 29 conference championships.
- The Terps have participated in 27 Final Fours, including 11-straight from 2009-2019 and have won 12 of the last 27 national championships, including seven-straight from 1995-2001.
SERIES HISTORY
- This is the first ever meeting between Maryland and Saint Joseph's.
- St. Joe's is coached by three Maryland alumni: Alex Kahoe ('00), Julia Braig ('19) & Caroline Steele ('19).
