Cordingley Named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week

COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Graduate attacker Aurora Cordingley was named the Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after scoring five first half goals on only five shots in her first game as a Terp last Saturday.
Cordingley shined in her Maryland debut to lead the Terps to a 20-6 trouncing of Saint Joseph's, scoring five of Maryland's first 10 goals. The Johns Hopkins transfer scored her first Maryland goal 3:26 into the game as she came from behind the net and would score four more over the next 18 minutes, three unassisted and one behind the back goal off an Eloise Clevenger feed. Her five goals were the most by any Big Ten player in a game this week. Cordingley also added a groundball and draw control.
This is the fourth Big Ten weekly honor of Cordingley's career, having won two Offensive Player of the Week honors (03-03-20, 04-13-21) and one Freshman of the Week award (03-13-18) during her four seasons at Johns Hopkins.
Cordingley was last week one of 51 players in the nation selected to the Tewaaraton Watch List and is an Inside Lacrosse Preseason Third Team All-American.
Cordingley and the No. 8 Terps will be back in action this Friday evening at No. 10 Virginia, starting at 5:00 p.m. on the ACC Network.
