CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – In a battle of longtime rivals,  No. 8 Maryland got the better of No. 10 Virginia for the 14th consecutive time with a 17-13 victory at Klockner Stadium on Friday evening. Libby May tied her career-high with five goals in the victory. "I thought tonight was a really good game between two strong teams at this point in the year," said head coach Cathy Reese. "We learned a lot about ourselves tonight. What a game of swings and momentum shifts. We went through a whole quarter of being scoreless and Virginia going on runs to us doing the same on our end. Fun to be able to leave Charlottesville with a win."
