CONWAY, SC -- Senior
Mackense Greico smacked two home runs as Maryland's offense bombed Monmouth, 14-4 on Friday afternoon at the Chanticleer Showdown. She was one of six Terps to have at least two hits in the game and one of three Terps with three RBIs in the victory.
Megan Mikami went 3-for-4 with four runs scored and an RBI.
Jaeda McFarland was 2-for-5 with three runs batted in.
Michaela Jones went 3-for-5.
Haley Ellefson clubbed a homer as she went 2-for-3 for three RBIs.
Taylor Okada was 2-for-3.
The Terps (5-6 overall) piled up 17 hits in the slugfest and scored 11 runs in the final three innings.
Wyche Wins It

Courtney Wyche pitched a complete game to earn the win striking out 10 Hawks without allowing an earned run.
• For Wyche, it was her third win of the season.
• The 10 Ks are the most since she had a career-high 15 vs. Evansville on Feb. 22, 2020.

Mark Montgomery-era at Maryland.

Breaking Down The Game
• Maryland jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning as Mikami scored on a wild pitch. Then Greico blasted her first homer of the game.
• Monmouth answered back with a pair of unearned runs in the bottom frame to deadlock the game at 2-2.
• The Terps took the lead for good at 3-2 on a McFarland double that scored
Ruby Butler in the top of the third.
