CONWAY, SC -- Maryland beat North Carolina A&T, 7-3, on Saturday at the Chanticleer Showdown, hosted by Coastal Carolina.
Ruby Butler was 3-for-3 with two runs scored.
Mackense Greico and
Megan Mikami each went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
Haley Ellefson threw a complete game in the circle, scattering nine hits and striking out four batters.

• Maryland jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the third inning. A
Jaeda McFarland sacrifice fly brought home
Michaela Jones for the first run of the game.
Ruby Butler then scored on an interference call for the second run.
Mackense Greico's single up the middle scored
Kiley Goff for the three-run edge.
• In the fifth,
Megan Mikami's single up the middle scored Goff to push the Terps' lead to 4-1.
• The Terps added two more runs in the sixth. Goff brought home Butler on a sac fly. Greico's single to short scored McFarland to put Maryland up 7-1.
