CONWAY, SC -- Maryland continued its winning ways down south as the Terps defeated host Coastal Carolina, 5-2, in the Chanticleer Showdown on Saturday afternoon at St. John Stadium. Maryland has won three games in a row to move to 7-6 on the season.
Michaela Jones smashed a homer in the fourth inning to key the offense. Maryland had eight hits overall in the win.
Jaeda McFarland was 2-for-2 with a run scored and a run batted in.
Campbell Kline went 2-for-3 at the plate.
Mackense Greico drove in two runs.

Trinity Schlotterbeck started and pitched the first 6.1 innings as she allowed seven hits against the host Chants, striking out two and keeping them at bay much of the afternoon.
Haley Ellefson came on for the save recording the final two outs of the win.

• The Terps jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the third inning thanks to a Greico two-run single bringing up
Jaeda McFarland and
Kiley Goff with one out.
• The lead expanded to 5-0 on Jones' homer along with an RBI single by McFarland and an RBI groundout by
Megan Mikami.
• Coastal got on the board with an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth. They added another run in the six.
