ROSEMONT, IL - Senior
Mackense Greico has been named the Big Ten Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Tuesday. This marks Greico's first Big Ten recognition as a Terp, and the first POTW nom for Maryland since Lindsey Schmeiser (March 16, 2015).
Greico had an all-out showing for the Terps as they went 4-1 on the weekend. Greico went 8-18 with 3 HRs (two against Monmouth), 8 RBIs and 17 total bases. Greico's two homers against Monmouth contributed to the most runs and hits in a game within the
Mark Montgomery era. She was also one of six Terps to have at least two hits in the game, in addition to being one of three to have three RBIs. In the field, Greico had 27 total chances with 0 errors.
Greico will join the Terps as they head to Charlotte, NC to particpate in the Queen City Classic, March 4-5.
