COLLEGE PARK, MDÂ -- The No. 4 Maryland women's lacrosse team beat Delaware, 15-2, behind a strong defensive performance with nine saves by the goalkeepers and seven different goal scorers.
Aurora Cordingley led the Terps offensively with six points (five goals, one assist).Â
Seven different players entered the scoring column for head coach Cathy Reese's squad, four of whom recorded multi-goal performances. Delaware's two goals are the fewest Maryland's opponent scored since March 16, 2019, when the Terps pulled out a 16-1 over Ohio State.
Eloise Clevenger dished out four assists for the second time this season and freshman
Jordyn Lipkin tallied three points (two goals, one assist) to help pace the offense. Maryland caused 13 turnovers defensively led by two apiece from
Abby Bosco,
Brianna Lamoureux and Lipkin.
Goalkeeper
Emily Sterling pitched a shutout in the first half, holding Delaware scoreless, making five saves, and giving the Terps a 10-0 lead at the break.

Maddie McSally each made two saves of their own in the second half.Â
Early Offense
- Maryland scored eight goals in the first quarter, three of which came from Cordingley.
- The Terps held Delaware scoreless until the fourth quarter and owned the first 12 goals of the game.
Aurora Keeps Rolling
- Johns Hopkins transfer Aurora Cordingley was already off to a hot start in a Maryland uniform, and that start only got hotter on Tuesday.
- Cordingley netted five goals, already bringing her to 18 on the young season. She also added an assist.
Home, Sweet Home
- Maryland's win was its 10th in a row at home, dating back to 2020.
- The Terps are now 152-5 at home under Cathy Reese.
Drawing It Up Well
- The Terrapins stayed hot at the center of the pitch, controlling 13 draws against Delaware's eight, led by five from Big Ten Midfielder of the Week Shaylan Ahearn and four from Bosco.

- After a couple of home games back at The 'Plex, Maryland heads back on the road for a date with William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, on Saturday at 1 p.m. The game will be broadcast on the Lax Sports Network.
