
Cordingley's Eight Points Lift No. 8 Terps Past Georgetown, 15-3

WASHINGTON, DC – Aurora Cordingley scored five goals and added three assists for eight points in leading Maryland to a 15-3 win over Georgetown at Cooper Field on Wednesday night. Maryland moves to 9-1 on the season.
"Proud of our team and how we rebounded tonight coming off of Saturday's game," said head coach Cathy Reese. "We did a good job of handling Georgetown's pressure and clearing the ball from their ride. We did a good job overall on offense and then defensively I thought we really worked together to lock down and really limit the opportunities that they did have. Proud of where we are and how we rebounded from where we were."
For Cordingley, she now has 250 career points with 154 goals, 96 assists with 68 points this season (38 goals and 30 assists). It was her third game this season with at least eight points and her fourth with at least four goals.
Libby May scored three goals for her fifth hat trick of the season. She added an assists for four points. Eloise Clevenger scored a pair of goals for her fourth multi-goal games this season.
The Terps other goals came from Kate Sites, Shaylan Ahearn, Hannah Leubecker, Julia Hoffman and Shannon Smith.
Goalie Emily Sterling allowed just three goals, making six saves.

- Maryland took a 5-0 lead after the first quarter with Cordingley (three goals) and May (two) accounting for all five quarters in the quarter.
- Kate Sites opened the second-quarter scoring to make it 6-0 before the Hoyas finally got on the board after being blanked for 19:43. Cordingley added her fourth of the game just prior to halftime for a 7-1 Terps' lead at intermission.
- The Terps had their second shutout quarter of the game (6-0) in the third to lead 13-1 with Cordingley adding two more goals .
- Each team scored two goals in the fourth quarter.
