COLLEGE PARK, MD -Â The No. 8 Maryland women's lacrosse team will play for a Big Ten Regular Season Championship in its home finale against No. 2 Northwestern. The game will air on the Big Ten Network with Dean Linke and Rachael DeCecco on the call.
NORTHWESTERN STORYLINES
BIG TEN TITLE ON THE LINEÂ
- Maryland and Northwestern are both undefeated in Big Ten play, with the Terps standing at 4-0 and the Wildcats standing at 5-0.
- With a win over No. 2 Northwestern, Maryland will clinch at least a share of the Big Ten Championship and can win it outright with a win at No. 20 Michigan next Saturday.
- This would mark the Terps sixth Big Ten Regular Season Championship, winning the title in each season from 2015-19, ninth Big Ten Championship overall (three Tournament Championships from 2016-18) and 30th conference championship in total, winning 21 in the ACC (10 Regular Season, 11 Tournament).
RORY IS ROARING
- Fifth-year transfer Aurora Cordingley is off to a record-breaking start as a Terp, currently leading the nation points per game (6.43 per game).
- She also stands fifth in the nation and leads the Big Ten with 36 assists.
- The Canadian National Team member has at least five points in 12 of 14 games, has at least six points in 10 of the last 13 games and is the first Terp with two double-digit point games in a season since Alex Aust in 2013, tallying 11 (six goals, five assists) against Villanova (3/13) and 10 (four goals, six assists) against No. 7 Florida (2/26).
- She has twice this season been named the IWLCA National Player of the Week and five times been named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, both the most since three-time Tewaaraton winner Taylor Cummings in 2015.
- Cordingley has recorded at least one point in 46-straight games dating back to April 25, 2018. The first 32 of those games were at Johns Hopkins, where combined with her 14 games at Maryland, she has 26 career games with at least five points.

FIVE TERPS NAMED MIDSEASON ALL-AMERICANS
- Five Terps were named Inside Lacrosse Midseason All-Americans on Thursday afternoon.
- Defender Abby Bosco was named a first team selection, attacker Aurora Cordingley and goalie Emily Sterling were selected as second team selections and midfielder Shaylan Ahearn and attacker Hannah Leubecker were recognized with honorable mention distinction.
- The Terps have the most all-americans on the list of any Big Ten school.

- Goalie Emily Sterling has been a brick wall in net this season, currently leading the nation with a .554 save percentage and a 7.44 goals against average.
- The junior has over a 50-percent save percentage in nine of 14 games this season and is saving at a .610 percent clip over the past five games.
- Sterling was named the IWLCA National Defensive Player of the Week this past week, has been selected as the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week four times this season, including the past three weeks, and was selected as a Second Team Midseason All-American by Inside Lacrosse.
HOME DOMINANCE
- The Terps are 157-5 at home under head coach Cathy Reese, with eight undefeated home campaigns in the last nine seasons (2013, '14, '15, '16, '17, '18, '19 & 21).
SERIES HISTORY
- Maryland leads the all-time series with Northwestern, 17-10 and has beaten the Wildcats in many memorable games, including the 2019 NCAA Semifinals, the 2016 & 2017 Big Ten Tournament Championship, the 2015 NCAA Quarterfinals, the 2014 NCAA Semifinals and the 2010 National Championship.
- The Terps last win over Northwestern was a 25-13 win in the National Semifinals on May 24, 2019. Grace Griffin had four goals in the win.
