
Maryland Rebounds With 6-1 Win At Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS, MN -- Behind great pitching by Courtney Wyche and timely hitting, Maryland posted a 6-1 victory at Minnesota on Saturday afternoon. The Terps moved to 25-19 overall and 11-5 in the conference with the win -- extending their record for most Big Ten wins in a non-COVID season.
Minnesota is now 20-19-1 and 6-8 in the Big Ten.
Wyche had an excellent game in the circle, striking out four and allowing just one run (unearned) on three hits over seven full innings, positng a 0.00 ERA.
Eight of Maryland's nine batters recorded hits within the game, with leadoff hitter Megan Mikami leading the way at two.
Breaking Down The Action
• Maryland took a 4-0 lead in the third inning. Mikami singled to left, which scored a pair of runs on error. Then Jaeda McFarland singled to bring home Mikami, making it 3-0. Mikami came home on a single up the middle by Haley Ellefson.
• Minnesota got on the board with a sacrifice fly in the fourth to make it 4-1.
• The Terps answered in the top of the fifth with another two runs after Mikami and Mackense Greico put themselves on with a pair of singles. A sac bunt from McFarland brought them home.
