
Matt Shaw Wins Several Weekly Awards

COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Maryland Baseball infielder Matt Shaw took home numerous awards after a dominant weekend at the plate against the Michigan Wolverines.
Shaw was named the Solomon Eye Associates Terp of The Week, NCBWA Dick Howser Trophy National Player of the Week, Golden Spikes Award Performance of the Week, Perfect Game Player of the Week, and the Big Ten Player of the Week.
Shaw was incredible at the plate, going 7-13 for a .538 batting average to go along with six home runs and 12 RBIs. The Brimfield, Massachusetts native homered once on Friday, twice on Sunday, and tied a school record with three home runs and eight RBIs on Saturday alone. \
On Saturday, Shaw hit a solo home run, three-run home run, and grand slam, falling a two-run shot short of the home run cycle.
Shaw is currently tied with teammate Chris Alleyne atop the Big Ten in home runs with 19.
