Seven Terps Named Inside Lacrosse All-Americans

COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Seven Terps were selected as 2022 All-Americans by Inside Lacrosse, the publication announced Tuesday.
Abby Bosco, Aurora Cordingley and Emily Sterling were named to the First Team, Shaylan Ahearn was placed on the Third Team and Grace Griffin, Hannah Leubecker and Libby May were selected as Honorable Mentions.
Bosco stands seventh in the nation with 3.15 groundballs per game and has the most groundballs by a Terp since 2004 with 63. The graduate defender was the Big Ten Defender of the Year, a Tewaaraton nominee, First Team All-Big Ten and the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week on March 8.
Cordingley stands fourth in the nation in both points (116) and assists (50) and is fifth all-time in Maryland single season rankings in both categories. The graduate attacker is a Tewaaraton Finalist, the Big Ten Attacker of the Year, the Big Ten Tournament MVP and a four-time National Player of the Week and Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week.
Sterling leads the nation with a .549 save percentage and stands second with a 7.36 goals against average. The junior was the Big Ten Goaltender of the Year, a Tewaaraton nominee, First Team All-Big Ten, a three-time National Player of the Week and five-time Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week.
Ahearn leads the Terps with 106 draw controls, the ninth most in program history. The junior was a Second Team All-Big Ten selection and two-time Big Ten Midfielder of the Week.
Griffin adds this plaudit to a remarkable Maryland career which is highlighted by her being the first ever three-time captain in program history. The fifth year captain is a three-time All-Big Ten selection, 2021 All-American, and the 2020-21 University of Maryland Student-Athlete of the Year and Big Ten Medal of Honor recipient.
Leubecker has tallied 66 points this season (57 goals), standing third on the team and sixth in the Big Ten. The junior was a First Team All-Big Ten selection, a 2021 All-American and was selected as the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week in March.
May stands second on the team and fifth in the Big Ten with 73 points and 61 goals. The junior was a Second Team All-Big Ten selection and both the Inside Lacrosse National Player of the Week and Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week on April 26.
