COLLEGE PARK, MD -Â The No. 1 seeded Maryland women's lacrosse team will look to win its fourth Big Ten Tournament Championship as it faces host an No. 3 seeded Rutgers on Sunday, May 8 at noon on the Big Ten Network. Dean Linke and Caley Chelios will have the call.
BIG TEN CHAMPIONSHIPÂ STORYLINES

- After a 14-6 semifinal win against No. 4 seeded Johns Hopkins, Maryland is 7-0 against Big Ten teams this season, winning the outright regular season title for the sixth time in seven seasons in the league.
- The Terps have won nine Big Ten titles (six regular season championships (2015-19, 22) & three Tournament Championships (2016-18)) and 30 conference championships in total, winning 21 in the ACC (10 Regular Season, 11 Tournament).
- In eight seasons in the league, Maryland is 42-5 in Big Ten regular season play and 51-8 overall including the Big Ten Tournament.
- The Terps have three Big Ten Tournament championships, winning in three straight seasons from 2016-18.
- Maryland is 10-3 all-time in the Big Ten Tournament and has made the championship game in six straight seasons.
- Maryland has won 14 Conference Tournament Championships in program history, with nine of those coming since Cathy Reese became the head coach in 2007 (six ACC, three Big Ten).
- The Terps took home six-straight ACC titles from 2009-14 and three-straight B1G titles from 2016-18. Reese is 25-5 as the coach of Maryland in conference tournament games.

- With a 13-8 win over No. 21 Michigan last Saturday, the Terps clinched the outright Big Ten title for the sixth time in the last seven complete seasons.

CATHY REESE 300
- Head Coach Cathy Reese is one win away from her 300th win as the head coach of Maryland.
- In her 16th season, Reese is a remarkable 299-33 as the leader of her alma mater.
- Since becoming the head coach in 2007, Reese has won five national championships, has made 11 final fours and has 21 conference championships.
RORY IS ROARING
- Fifth-year transfer Aurora Cordingley currently stands fourth in the nation in points per game (6.00).
- She also stands seventh in the nation and leads the Big Ten with 44 assists.
- The Canadian National Team member has at least five points in 13 of 17 games, has at least six points in 11 of the last 16 games and is the first Terp with two double-digit point games in a season since Alex Aust in 2013.
- She has twice this season been named the IWLCA National Player of the Week and five times been named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, both the most since three-time Tewaaraton winner Taylor Cummings in 2015.
- In the Terps last game against her former team, Johns Hopkins, Cordingley became only the sixth Terp ever to reach the 100 point plateau in a season (Jen Adams, Alex Aust, Kelly Amonte, Sarah Mollison, Taylor Cummings, Megan Whittle).
- Now with 102 points, Cordingley stands seventh all-time in program lore for single season points. Her 44 assists put her eighth all-time on the single season assist list and only one behind Sarah Mollison (2011).
- Cordingley has recorded at least one point in 49-straight games dating back to April 25, 2018. The first 32 of those games were at Johns Hopkins, where combined with her 17 games at Maryland, she has 27 career games with at least five points.

THREE TERPS NAMED TEWAARATON NOMINEES
- Abby Bosco, Aurora Cordingley and Emily Sterling were all selected as nominees for the Tewaaraton Award, lacrosse's most prestigious honor, last week.
- Maryland's three selections for the 25-player list are the second most of any school (North Carolina).
- The Terps have won eight of the last 11 Tewaaraton awards and have had a top-five finalist in 14 straight seasons, every year under head coach Cathy Reese.

- Goalie Emily Sterling has been a brick wall in net this season, currently leading the nation with a .562 save percentage and a 7.49 goals against average.
- The junior has over a 50-percent save percentage in 11 of 17 games this season and is saved at an amazing .626 clip in Big Ten play.
- A Tewaaraton nominee and unanimous First Team All-Big Ten selection, Sterling has been named the IWLCA National Defensive Player of the Week three times this season, including the past two weeks, the USA Lacrosse Magazine National Player of the Week once and has been selected as the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week five times, the most since Tewaaraton recipient Megan Taylor in 2019.
SERIES HISTORY
- Maryland is 22-1 all-time against Rutgers, this season handing the Scarlet Knights their first loss with a 16-6 win in College Park.
- Hannah Leubecker led the way with four goals and two assists for six points.
- Jordyn Lipkin had her best game of her young career with new highs of three goals and two assists for five points.
- Emily Sterling had 10 saves in net.
- This is the second time the Terps and Rutgers have met in the Big Ten Tournament, with Maryland beating the Scarlet Knights 19-9 in the 2016 Big Ten Semifinals.
