Thirteen Terps Ready for 2022 World Lacrosse Women's Championship

TOWSON, MD -- The Maryland women's lacrosse program will be heavily represented in the 2022 World Lacrosse Women's Championship, which will be played in Maryland on the campus of Towson University and kicks off Wednesday evening. 

Thirteen Terps, representing six nations, will participate in the World Championship, which begins Wednesday, June 29 at 7:00 p.m. with the United States taking on Canada and runs for 11 days until the championship on Saturday, July 9.

Seven Terps will be in the opening game on Wednesday night, which will air on ESPN2. 

This is the first World Championship played in the United States since 2005. America has won the past three World Championships played in 2009, 2013 & 2017. In 2017, Alex Aust ('13), Taylor Cummings ('16), Megan Douty ('15), Brooke Griffin ('15), Alice Mercer ('16), Katie Schwarzmann ('13) all won gold with the United States.
