Maryland Announces Several Future Non-Conference Opponents

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The University of Maryland football program announced several additions to its future non-conference schedule on Wednesday. The Terrapins will host Towson (2025) and James Madison (2027), while engaging in a home-and-home series with Wake Forest in 2030 and 2031.

With these additions, Maryland's non-conference schedule is now finalized through 2025. To see all future non-conference football match-ups, click here. 

The Terps, who are already scheduled to host Towson in 2023, will welcome the Tigers to Maryland Stadium for the fourth all-time meeting between the local squads on Sept. 13, 2025. Maryland has won both of its previous meetings with Towson, most recently defeating the Tigers, 63-17, in 2017.

James Madison, which is in its first year in the Sun Belt Conference in 2022, will travel to College Park on Sept. 4, 2027. The Terps are 3-0 all-time against the Dukes, most recently winning at home, 52-7, in 2014.

Wake Forest and Maryland will renew their rivalry when the Terps travel to Winston-Salem on Sept. 7, 2030. The Demon Deacons will return to College Park the following year to complete the home-and-home series with a contest on Sept. 6, 2031.

Former Atlantic Coast Conference rivals, the Terps and Demon Deacons have met 62 times on the gridiron with Maryland holding a 43-18-1 advantage.

  • September 13, 2025 – Towson at Maryland (College Park, Md.)

  • September 4, 2027 – James Madison at Maryland (College Park, Md.)

  • September 7, 2030 – Maryland at Wake Forest (Winston-Salem, N.C.)

  • September 6, 2031 – Wake Forest at Maryland (College Park, Md.)
