COLLEGE PARK, Md. -Â The University of Maryland women's soccer team will kick off their six game home-stand this week as they welcome No. 17 Georgetown and George Mason to Ludwig Field. The Terps will take on the Hoyas on Thursday (9/1) at 7 pm, followed by a Sunday afternoon (9/4) matchup against the Patriots at 1 pm. Both matches will be streamed on BTN +.Â
 THIS WEEK'S STORYLINES
series history
- The Terps and Hoyas have only met once before, which was in the second round of the 2010 NCAA tournament. The two teams battled to a 1-1 draw; Georgetown advanced on PKs, 3-2.  Â
- Maryland holds a commanding 18-6-1 record over George Mason. The Terps and the Patriots last met in the 2021 season as Maryland traveled to Fairfax, Virginia and came away with a 2-0 victory.

- Maryland has secured three 1-1 ties in their opening three games of the 2022 season
- After giving up an early goal last Thursday against Navy, Kam Fisher scored her first goal in a Maryland uniform to tie the game, securing a 1-1 draw for the Terps
- The Terps came back from behind in another 1-1 tie on Sunday against Pennsylvania. Juliana Lynch netted her first goal as a Terp in the 59th minute of the match.Â

a New Era
- Coach Meghan Ryan Nemzer continues her first season at the helm of the Maryland women's soccer program. Coach Nemzer comes to Maryland after spending the previous 14 seasons on the coaching staff at Rutgers.Â
- Katie Ely and Alex Ng will also be joining the Maryland staff this season. Ely has spent the previous seven seasons on the women's soccer staff at the University of
- Â Georgia, while Ng comes to Maryland after spending the past two seasons on the University of Richmond women's soccer staff.
- Coach Nemzer has also added Kenie Wright to the staff along with Justine Stoner. Wright will serve as the Director of Player Development, the first in the program's history, while Stoner will fill the director of operations position.
- Finally, Joe Nemzer rounds out the staff as the program's volunteer assistant coach. Joe brings more than a decade of soccer expertise with experience in both the professional and college ranks.
- Coach Nemzer and her staff welcome 19 new Terps to College Park this season, including 9 freshmen and 10 transfers.

2022Â SCHEDULE
- The Terps will be playing a full 17-game schedule, consisting of 7 non-conference games and 10 conference games.
- Maryland will have a six game homestand as non-conference play wraps up and Big Ten play begins.Â
- Big Ten play will begin on Friday September 16 when Maryland hosts Michigan.
