
Maryland Takes Third at the Navy Cross Country Invitational

ANNAPOLIS, MD – The Maryland cross country squad traveled to Annapolis, MD to compete in the Navy Cross Country Invitational. The squad raced to a third place team finish behind strong performances from several veteran athletes as they competed in the 6K.
Sophomore Katie Altieri and Senior Anna Coffin led the way, leading the Terps in scoring as the squad raced to another strong team performance.

Meet Notes:

Sophomore Katie Altieri led the scoring for the Terps squad, racing to a 22:00.02 finish - taking seventh place in the meet.

Senior Anna Coffin crossed the line, finishing eighth (22:00.03) as the Terps second scorer.

Katie Turk (22:33.6) and Sophia Zell (22:33.7) had strong performances, earning top fifteen finishes.

Katerina Talanova (23:07.6) rounded out the scoring for the Terps.

Amanda Eliker and Rubie Goffena finished strong in a tight pack for the team.

Kirstin Nichols and Claudia Dolan also had strong showings at the Navy Invitational.

Katie Ericson also competed in the 6K representing the Terps.
Coaches Comments:
"Today we saw a lot of progress with the group working together and putting emphasis on the second half of the race. This was a good tune up as competition picks up in the season."
Next Up:
The Terps will travel to Bethlehem, PA on September 30, to compete in the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University.
