COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Maryland men's soccer center back
Chris Rindov was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
Rindov was all over the field in a 2-1 win over Michigan. The senior scored the opening goal for the Terps in the first half before helping the Terps hold Michigan scoreless in the second half. The Rockville, Md., native has scored two goals this season and has emerged as one of the best defensive player in the conference. Rindov was also named to College Soccer News' National Team of the Week.
Maryland now has four different players that have been honored with Big Ten Weekly Awards this season. Rindov,
William Kulvik and
Niklas Neumann have earned Defensive Player of the Week honors while
Malcolm Johnston was the Offensive Player of the Week.
