
Terps Close Out Competition from New York, George Mason

NEW YORK, NY – The Maryland Track and Field squads competed at split meets today, taking part in the Dr. Sanders Invitational at the New York Armory, and the Mason Patriot Games, in Fairfax VA.
Day two of competition was highlighted by a number of impressive personal best performances, including a twenty second personal best from Anna Coffin in the 3K. Several athletes also garnered podium finishes, including Luke Tobia who took third in the weight throw.

Women's Notes:

Anna Coffin earned a sixth place result in the 3K, finishing in an impressive 9:38.63 - a twenty second improvement upon her previous best. Katie Altieri also had a season best performance in the event, finishing in 9:45.09 and finishing tenth. Her mark is the fourth fastest in Terrapins history.

Sarah George (17.78m) and Kamryn Henderson (17.51m) earned top eight finishes in the weight throw.

Katie Turk (4:59.67) set an eight second personal best in the mile

Kyra Lyles (57.37) Lydia Robling (57.54) and Maya Mosley had strong performances in the 400m.

Madison Depry (25.21) and Kattiana Ealy-Pulido (25.30) took on the 200m.

Sophia Zell (5:14.04), and Lucia Larrea competed in the mile at the Mason Patriot Games.

Kirstin Nichols, Hannah Mack, and Rubie Goffena all had improved season best performances in the 3k run at Mason. Claudia Dolan and Katie Ericson also competed in this event.
Men's Notes:

Luke Tobia (19.25m) took third in the weight throw with a strong performance.

Brandon James made his Maryland debut in the 400m.

Ako Hislop (22.18) had a top ten finish in the 200m in his second meet as a Terp.

Eric Albright (1:54.16), Chase McGeehan, and Max Myers competed in the 800m for the Terps.
Coaches Comments:
"Today wrapped up a strong weekend of competition with several top place finishes and personal best marks. We are continuing to build as we head into the second half of indoor season competition.

The Terps will travel to Virginia Tech on February 3rd to compete in the Doc McHale Invitational
