No. 9 Terrapins Team Up with Special Olympics

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The ninth-ranked Maryland women's basketball team hosted members of the Special Olympics of Prince George's County for basketball practice Monday morning at the XFINITY Center.

Over 50 athletes attended the event and ran through passing, dribbling, shooting and exercise drills with the Terrapins.
The day ended with short scrimmages with the Terrapins coaching the passionate athletes. Afterwards, everyone gathered together for a group photo and autographs. There was no shortage of high fives and smiles throughout the afternoon.

"We weren't able to do this event the last few years and it was so fun to bring it back today," senior Faith Masonius said. "The energy and fun these athletes bring to practice is awesome to see. It's one of our favorite days!"

The Terps return to action Thursday with a 6:30 p.m. matchup at No. 6 Indiana on the Big Ten Network.
