COLLEGE PARK, MD – Hope Rose, a junior on the Maryland field hockey team, was named to the 2023 National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-American First Team, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.
The Dauphin, Pennsylvania, native has earned All-American honors for three-consecutive years. She was named to the first team during her sophomore year and earned second team honors during her freshman season.Â
Rose collected multiple recognitions throughout her junior season, including All-Big Ten First Team and NFHCA Mid-Atlantic Region First Team. She posted an impressive 28 points from 13 goals and two assists. She scored her first career hat-trick against Miami (OH) and added three game-winning goals throughout the season.Â
Maryland finished the season with a 17-6 overall record. They had notable wins over multiple ranked opponents during the regular season and earned an appearance in the Big Ten Tournament Finals. They advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the thirty-fifth time in program history, defeating Old Dominion in the first round before falling to Virginia in the quarterfinal.
