COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Following a pair of wins over ranked opponents, the Maryland softball team is ranked No. 23 in the USA Today/ NFCA Coaches Poll of Feb. 14. Maryland is also No. 24 in the latest D1Softball Top 25. It is the first time the Terps are ranked since being No. 23 in the March 11, 2008 NFCA Coaches Poll.

Maryland beat No. 3 Oklahoma State, 11-6, on Sunday for its first win over a Top-3 opponent since 2017 (No. 1 Florida) and just its third-ever win over a Top-3 opponent, also beating No. 3 Arizona in 1999. The Terps opened the season with a 7-3 win over No. 22 Oregon. The last time the Terps beat a ranked team in a season opener was in 2008, beating No. 12 Michigan.

Overall, the Terps are 4-1 with wins over BYU and North Dakota State at the Puerto Vallarta Challenge. They are back in action in Chapel Hill this coming weekend for the ACC/Big Ten Challenge against Virginia and the host Tar Heels on Friday-Sunday.
