ROSEMONT, ILL – Senior Diamond Miller of No. 8 Maryland (21-5, 12-3 B1G) was named Big Ten Player of the Week for the second time this season. This is Miller's sixth career weekly recognition from the conference.

Miller had an outstanding week as she led Maryland to two wins in league play. She averaged 24.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 53 percent from the floor and 88 percent from the foul line. In a 79-54 win at Northwestern Thursday, she scored nine of her 18 points in the Terps' second-quarter surge. They trailed by four at the end of the first quarter, then Miller took over. She finished with a game-high 18 points, nine rebounds and tied her career-high seven assists. Miller led the second-half charge that put the Terps up 12 and they never looked back.

In an 83-71 come-from-behind win over Illinois Sunday on Senior Day, the Terrapins trailed most of the first half and were down nine at halftime. Miller and the Terrapins went on a third-quarter tear to take the lead. Fourteen seconds into the third, she made an and-1 play and finished with nine points and three boards in the period. Maryland outscored Illinois 31-8 in the third to lead by 14. Miller finished the day with 31 points, one point shy of her career-high, nine rebounds, four assists and she went 7-7 at the foul line.

Miller was named Big Ten Player of the Week on Nov. 21, 2022. She has been named to the Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll four times in her career, most recently the last two weeks straight.

Miller is leading the Terrapins with 19.8 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. The two-time All-Big Ten honoree has scored in double figures in 24 of 25 games played this season. Miller has led the Terps to five wins over top-25 teams, three over top 10 teams.

Miller's 19.8 points per contest are the most by a Terrapin since Brionna Jones averaged 19.9 in 2016-17.

Miller and Maryland will play at Michigan State (13-12, 5-9) Saturday at 3 p.m. ET in East Lansing, Mich. The Terps-Spartans matchup will be streamed on B1G+.
