BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The No. 46 University of Maryland women's tennis team (10-2, 1-0 B1G) beat No. 75 Indiana (9-4, 1-2 B1G), 4-3 on the road this Saturday at the Indiana University Tennis Center. The team won the doubles point on courts 1 and 3, and courts 2, 4, and 6 in the singles.

Graduate student Hannah McColgan pulled off a big victory on court 6 in three sets to secure the win for the Terps. The alternate doubles pairing of Selma Cadar and Francesca Feodorov helped the Terps with a 6-3 win on court 3.
 

Coach Dougherty's Remarks

"This was a great win today against Indiana. We played the cleanest and sharpest we have in doubles all season and Indiana had a great response in singles. We went down quick 3-0 on a number of courts and were climbing out of holes to get into matches. Kallista Liu did a fantastic job putting that 2nd point on the board for us quickly and and Selma Cadar battled for the 3rd. Marta Perez Mur competed really well and played a great match at 1 at a very high level and it just came down to a few points here and there. Hannah McColgan was clutch today- she just chipped away and chipped away and found a way to win. Her fitness and mental strength really shined today. We have a quick turnaround against a very good Purdue team tomorrow and we'll take the lessons learned today and work to apply them tomorrow."
