
Terps Falter In 6-3 Loss Against Albany

COLLEGE PARK, MD – Maryland came up short against Albany on Saturday afternoon in a 6-3 loss at Bob "Turtle" Smith stadium as the Terps (10-8) and Great Danes (3-9-1) have traded wins in the first two games of this weekend series.
Nick Lorusso went 2-for-4 to extend his hitting streak to 17 games. Kevin Keister, Eddie Hacopian and Bobby Zmarzlak all also went 2-for-4.
Up 2-1 in the fifth inning, Maryland starter Nick Dean, who struggled with control early on, gave up four runs to Albany, starting with an error by Keister that allowed the Great Danes to tie the game.
Dan Tauken delivered the big blow for Albany two batters later, hitting a three-run home run that gave the Great Danes a 5-2 lead at that point.
Maryland took a 2-1 lead in the third thanks to an RBI groundout from Matt Shaw and an RBI single up the middle from Keister. The Terps cut into the deficit in the bottom of the sixth as Zmarzlak reached on an RBI fielder's choice, scoring Ian Petrutz.
The Terps out-hit Albany, 10-6, in the loss, with four players recording multi-hit games, but they also left nine men on base overall.
