Box Score COLLEGE PARK, MD – Maryland topped Michigan State, 11-0, to take both games in Friday's doubleheader. The Terps posted shutouts in both games of the twinbill, giving them 10 on the season, the most for Maryland in a season since recording 18 in 2011. The Terps moved to 25-8 overall and 2-3 in the Big Ten. Maryland's record through 33 games is the best start in school history, bettering the mark of 24-9 to start the 2008 season. Michigan State is now 10-16 and 1-4 in the conference.
Trinity Schlotterbeck pitched a dominant complete-game shutout, her third of the year. The senior yielded only two hits across five innings.
The Terps dominated on offense, scoring at least three runs in the first three innings. Third baseman Michaela Jones hit two triples in the game, along with doubles by Jaeda McFarland and Campbell Kline. Ten different Terps finished with hits for a team total of 11 hits in the game.

Breaking Down The Action
- The Terps struck first with three runs in the bottom of the first inning, all beginning with a Megan Mikami leadoff walk. Kiley Goff converted for an RBI triple to drive in Mikami before McFarland doubled to drive in Goff. McFarland then came home to score thanks to a Michigan State error.
- Sammi Woods made an amazing catch at shortstop to deny the Spartans in the second. Schlotterbeck retired the next two batters, finishing with a one-two-three inning.
- Maryland's offense kept rolling in the third, adding five more runs. Following a Woods single and Mikami HBP, an MSU error allowed both runs to score and McFarland to reach third. Sydney Lewis slapped a single to knock in McFarland. Schlotterbeck then singled to drive in Amelia Lech and advance Jones. Kline converted for an RBI double, allowing Jones to touch home.
- Mikami launched a triple to kick off another successful bottom inning for the Terps. Goff walked, stole second, then Mikami reached home plate off a McFarland sacrifice. Lech followed with a two-run moonshot to score Goff, upping the score to 11-0.
