COLLEGE PARK, MD. - The University of Maryland softball team will travel to Iowa to face the Hawkeyes for its first road conference weekend series. Due to inclement weather, the series schedule has been adjusted to a doubleheader on Friday beginning at 4 pm, with the second game starting 30 minutes after the completion of the first. The series finale will be played on Sunday, beginning at 1 pm. All three games will be streamed on B1G+.

scouting the foes
- Iowa has opened up its 2023 season with a 25-15 overall record and 7-4 in Big Ten play.
- The Hawkeyes are coming off of a series sweep against Michigan State. They have also picked up a series win against Penn State on the opening weekend of Big Ten Play.
- The Terps and Hawkeyes last met in the 2022 season in which Maryland swept the series 3-0.

- The Terps are off to their best start in program history an overall record of 27-12
- Maryland has 24 home runs on the season so far, already surpassing their homerun total from the 2022 season of 17. Amelia Lech has been powering the offense with 12 of those home runs.
- Freshman pitcher Keira Bucher currently leads the nation in saves with 10 on the season. She is one save away from tying the Big Ten record.

- The Terps are coming off of a 1-4 week last week after playing a midweek doubleheader against Rutgers and a weekend series against Nebraska
- Kiley Goff led the way for the Terps at the plate last week with an average of .462, recording six hits, two runs and an RBI.
- Maryland enters the Iowa weekend series with a 4-7 record in conference play after sweeping Michigan State and picking up a win against Nebraska.
