Box Score COLLEGE PARK, MD – Maryland topped Penn State, 2-1, in game two of their weekend series. Strong pitching from both teams kept it close, but effective base-running gave the Terps the edge they needed to win. Maryland advanced to 31-14 (7-9 BIG), bettering their record of most program wins in the Big Ten. Penn State fell to 25-14 (6-10 BIG).
Trinity Schlotterbeck tossed 7.0 innings in the circle, her sixth complete game of the season. The senior pitcher also posted two strikeouts and only yielded five Penn State hits.

Megan Mikami. McFarland also had a walk and a stolen base in this game.
Kiley Goff put the Terps in the lead during the fifth, popping up a sacrifice to score
Sammi Woods.

- Penn State scored first with an RBI double in the top of the second. A bullet by Amelia Lech from right field enabled Michaela Jones to secure the out at home, preventing more Nittany Lion runs in the inning.
- Maryland's defense came up big to strand a PSU runner in the top of the third. A double play by Woods, Madison Runyan, and Mackense Greico ended the top of the stanza.
- McFarland tied it up for the Terps in the third with an RBI single. After taking a walk and stealing second, Mikami rounded home thanks to McFarland's center field shot.
- The Terps took the lead in the bottom of the fifth, upping the score to 2-1. Following singles by Woods and Mikami, Goff popped up for a sacrifice play, allowing Woods to touch home.
- Mikami made an athletic, diving catch in left field to put Maryland only two outs away from the win.
