
No. 33 Maryland Selected for NCAA Regionals in Athens

COLLEGE PARK, MD - The No. 33-ranked Maryland women's golf team was selected to play in the NCAA Regionals in Athens, Ga. May 8-10.
The Terrapins are the No. 6 seed in the Athens Regional. They will compete at the University of Georgia Golf Course. South Carolina is the top seed in the Athens Regional, followed by No. 2 San Jose State, No. 3 Ole Miss, No. 4 Ohio State and No. 5 Georgia.
"We're really excited to be heading to Georgia to compete at NCAA Regionals, said head coach Kelly Hovland. "This is really a culmination of a season of very consistent golf from our team, and we're looking forward to the opportunity to compete at Grayhawk!"
"This women's golf program just continues to get better," Barry P. Gossett Director of Athletics Damon Evans said. "When we hired Kelly a few years ago, I knew she would take us to a new level. I continue to believe that to this day. We are excited for our Terps are truly proud of them and all they have accomplished so far. Congratulations to our Terps and the coaching staff."
Maryland this season has had six top-five finishes, with Mackova having eight top-10 finishes.

The selection will send the Terps to NCAA Regionals as a team for the first time under Kelly Hovland's tenure as head coach and sixth all-time as a program.
