COLLEGE PARK, MD – Seven members of the No. 2 seeded Maryland women's lacrosse team earned All-Big Ten recognition, the conference announced Wednesday.
Maryland has four players on the first team and three more on the second team, the most in the conference. The Terps have had at least three First Team selections in every season since they've been in the conference.

Ahearn is one of five unanimous selections in the conference. The teams consist of 16 on the First Team and 16 on the Second Team. Maryland has the second-most selections of any school, only trailing Northwestern's eight.
Maryland has garnered 95 all-conference honorees in head coach
Cathy Reese's 17 seasons. This is the third time that Ahearn All-Big Ten distinction, the second time for Bosco, Sterling and May, and the first time for Clevenger, Lamoureux and Edmondson.
Ahearn has been one of the best midfielders in the nation this season, leading the Big Ten and standing 10th in the nation with 111 draw controls. The senior captain has tallied at least eight draws in six different games and has helped Maryland win 61.2-percent of all draw controls, the fourth-best mark in the country and best in the Big Ten. Ahearn also has 17 goals, 13 assists, 12 groundballs and eight caused turnovers. She has been named the Big Ten Midfielder of the Week five times, the most in the conference.
Bosco leads the Maryland defense, which has held 10 opponents to single digit goals this season. The graduate captain stands second in the Big Ten and ninth in the nation with 37 caused turnovers, ranks fourth in the Big Ten with 37 groundballs and has the fifth-most draw controls in the conference with 74. She has helped Maryland win 61.2-percent of all draw controls, the fourth-best mark in the country and best in the Big Ten. The reigning Big Ten Defender of the Year, Bosco has seven games of three-plus groundballs, seven games of three-plus caused turnovers and has seven games of at least five draw controls. Bosco was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week twice this season and the Inside Lacrosse, Unleashed and IWLCA National Player of the Week once.
Clevenger has been the leader on the Maryland attack, leading the team in both points (60) and assists (39), while standing eighth in the nation and second in the Big Ten in assists. The junior broke the Maryland single game assist record that has stood for 10 years with eight against Ohio State and has multiple assists in 10 of the 16 games she has played in. Clevenger has led Maryland in points in eight different games highlighted by her nine against Ohio State, eight against Rutgers and seven against Princeton. In conference play alone, she leads the league with 15 assists and stands fourth with 23 points. Clevenger was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week after her Ohio State performance.
Sterling has been tremendous in goal for the Terps this season, posting a .483 save percentage, 145 saves and a 9.41 goals against average. The senior captain has had over a 50-percent save percentage in nine of 17 games and has had double digit saves in five different games including 15 against Georgetown and Princeton, 13 against Northwestern and 12 against Michigan. The reigning Big Ten Goalie of the Year has helped keep 10 opponents to single digit goals this season. Sterling has been named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week twice and the IWLCA National Defensive Player of the Week once.
Edmondson has stood out during her freshman season, standing third on the team in both goals (34) and points (40), while also picking up 12 groundballs, causing five turnovers and winning 16 draw controls. The No. 1 freshman in the country heading into this season, Edmondson has at least three points in nine different games and four points in seven different games. The freshman had a hat-trick in six straight games from March 5 to March 22. Edmondson was named the Big Ten Freshman & Midfielder of the Week on March 21.
Lamoureux has helped lead the Maryland defense, which has held 10 opponents to single digit goals this season. The senior stands second on the team with 25 groundballs and third on the team with eight caused turnovers. She has multiple groundballs in seven different games including four against James Madison and Johns Hopkins and has caused a turnover in seven different games, highlighted with two against Johns Hopkins.
May leads the Terps and stands third in the Big Ten with 39 goals this season and is second on the team and eighth in the conference with 54 points. The senior has at least three goals in nine different games and has scored six goals three times, in wins over Drexel, Florida and Princeton. May has led the Terps in goals in nine of 17 games and also has five assists, 15 groundballs, nine draw controls and two caused turnovers on the season. Now a two-time All-Big Ten selection, May was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week twice this season and the IWLCA National Offensive Player of the Week once.
Chrissy Thomas was named Maryland's sportsmanship honoree.
Since Big Ten lacrosse began back in 2015, Maryland has had 54 All-Big Ten selections, the most in the conference.
The Attacker, Midfielder, Defender and Goaltender of the Year, along with the Freshman and Coach of the Year, will be announced on Monday, May 8 following the conclusion of the Big Ten Tournament.
The No. 2 seeded Terps open up the postseason this Saturday, April 29 with the Big Ten Tournament Quarterfinals against No. 7 Ohio State at 4:30 p.m. at SECU Stadium. With a win, the Terps will advance to the Big Ten Semifinals which will take place next Thursday, May 4 on the campus of Ohio State.
