COLLEGE PARK, MD. - The University of Maryland softball team welcomes Nebraska to College Park for a weekend series. The series is scheduled to begin on Friday at 6 pm, followed by a 2 pm game on Saturday afternoon. Friday and Saturday's game will be streamed on B1G+. The series finale will be played on Sunday on the Big Ten Network. First pitched is set for noon.

  • Nebraska enters the weekend with a 25-12 overall record on the 2023 season.
  • The Huskers are 5-3 in conference play, sweeping Purdue on Big Ten Opening weekend. Nebraska split a midweek doubleheader with Iowa and went 1-2 against Michigan in the second weekend of Big Ten play.  
  • The Terps and Huskers met last in the 2021 season in which Nebraska swept the series 4-0.

  • The Terps enter its first home Big Ten series with an overall record of 26-10, their best start since in program history 
  • Maryland has 24 home runs on the season so far, already surpassing their homerun total from the 2022 season of 17. Amelia Lech has been powering the offense with 12 of those home runs.
  • Freshman pitcher Keira Bucher currently leads the nation in saves with 9 on the season. She is one save away from tying the Big Ten record.

  • The Terps swept Michigan State in their Big Ten series at home. 
  • Maryland outscored Michigan State 22-0. This is the first time in program history in which the Terps swept a conference opponent, while also holding them scoreless.
  • Courtney Wyche was named Big Ten Pitcher of the Week after recording 21 strikeouts on the week and picking up three wins in three appearances. 
  • Trinity Schlotterbeck was named Extra Inning National Player of the Week, the first Terp to receive this honor in program history. Schlotterbeck was also named Big Ten Player of the Week.
