Greico Earns Big Ten Player of the Week Honors

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Senior Mackense Greico was named Big Ten Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday. This honor marks Greico's first weekly honor of the season.

Mackense Greico was a huge part of a dominant Maryland offense this weekend who recorded 31 runs in their four victories in the final week of the regular season. Greico finished the weekend with a .727 batting average. Of her eight hits, she had two home runs and two doubles. She also logged six RBIs and eight runs. Her 16 total bases, three walks and 1.455% slugging percentage led her to a team-leading .786 on base percentage. Greico also recorded a pair of stolen bases.

Defensively she was a part of 18 putouts and had one assist. The Terps moved to 36-16 on the season after sweeping Illinois in the final weekend of regular season play, recording their most wins in a season since 2011.

The Terps begin postseason play on Wednesday as they face ninth-seeded Iowa in the opening round of the Big Ten Tournament. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 EST and will be streamed in BTN.
