COLLEGE PARK, MD — The Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) announced that 15 members of the University of Maryland gymnastics program earned WCGA Scholastic All-American honors, the organization announced Tuesday. The Terps placed second in the Big Ten and No. 21 in the country with a team grade-point average of 3.666 during the 2022-23 academic year.
To earn WCGA Scholastic All-American status, student-athletes must carry a GPA of 3.50 or higher throughout the 2022-23 academic year. Additionally, the Gym Terps celebrated the highest spring semester GPA of all 20 sports at Maryland with a 3.718 GPA. The program was bolstered in the spring semester with 17 Academic All-Big Ten honorees, as all eligible student-athletes recorded a GPA of at least 3.0.
Eight members of the team recorded a perfect 4.0 GPA during the spring semester, the most for any program. The program also posted a perfect 1000 Academic Progress Rate (APR) for the second year in a row.
