College Park, MD -- Maryland field hockey players
Josie Hollamon,
Hope Rose and
Maura Verleg have been named to the Big Ten Players to Watch list, as announced by the conference on Wednesday.
Â
Hollamon enters her freshman season with the Terps after a stellar high school and club career. She is a member of the U.S. U-21 Women's National Team. The Delmar, Delaware native, competed in the Junior Pan American Championship in April 2023 and the FIH Hockey Pro League in July 2023.
Rose is a three-time selection to this preseason list and continues to be a consistent asset for Maryland. She earned Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2021. The following year, Rose led the Terps in points with 36 from 14 goals and eight assists. She will compete with Hollamon on the U.S. Women's National Team later this year.Â
