Davis, CA -- The No. 3 Terps remain undefeated with a 6-0 win over UC Davis, finishing the third and final game on the west coast Monday night.

Led by Hope Rose with two goals, the Terps had five different goal scorers. Four Terps logged an assist as well. Rose finished with a game-high five points on two goals and an assist.

The Terp defense overwhelmed UC Davis all evening, holding them to just four shots on goal. Paige Kieft and Alyssa Klebasko split time at keeper, with Kieft making one save and Klebasko three to earn the combined shutout. It marks the second time in three games that the Terps shut out their opponent. On the entire three-game West Coast trip, Maryland surrendered just one goal.

The Terps now return home where they host the B1G/ACC Challenge this weekend.

Breaking Down The Action

Similar to the season opener at Stanford, Maryland scored 1:15 into the game. Freshman Maci Bradford added her second career goal.
Junior Hope Rose added to the lead, driving the ball into the circle, faking out the defense and sending one to the back of the cage.
Sammy Popper collected her third career goal on a penalty corner at the end of the first quarter.
Anna Castaldo tallied her first goal of the season with a sneaky five-hole tap with 2:35 left in the half.
0:49 seconds later, Rose scored the final goal of the half, giving the Terps a comfortable five goal lead at halftime.
Freshman Maddie Vasilios scored her first career goal to open the third quarter. She collected a loose ball and re-entered the circle, sending the shot to the top corner of the cage.

Maryland continues to involve returning and incoming players in their offensive play. Three goals were scored by newcomers and three were owned by returning talent.

Today marked the first meeting between Maryland and UC Davis since 2018. The Terps remain undefeated as they take a 3-0-0 all-time record.
