The Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex will be debuting the new video board for Sunday's match. The theme for the afternoon is a Wild, Wild West Red Out. All fans are encouraged to wear red. The first 100 students in attendance will receive custom Maryland field hockey bandannas and t-shirts.
Fans are encouraged to stay after the game for the one and only autograph session for the 2023 campaign. The first 200 fans in line will receive a team autograph card.

- The series between the Terps and Nittany Lions began in 1975. Penn State holds the all-time series record at 18-28-1.
- Maryland has picked up seven wins since joining the Big Ten in 2014. The last home victory for the Terps was in September of 2019.

- Similar to the game at Virginia, fifth year Margot Lawn tallied the first goal of the afternoon against the Scarlet Knights. She owns four goals on the year and a two-game goal streak. Lawn holds the team's highest shots-on-goal percentage at .833, after notching two shots on goal against Rutgers. She continues to lead the team in assists with five and ranks sixth in the Big Ten, averaging .560 assists per game.
- Freshman Maci Bradford claims the second highest point total on the team with 14, from five goals and four assists. She added her latest goal in Piscataway by battling a defender and ultimately beating the keeper on a breakaway.
- Junior Hope Rose leads the Terps with 19 points from nine goals and one assist. She has the Big Ten's fourth-highest goals per game average at .900.
- The Terps continue to showcase depth through their roster as they average sixteen players participating per match. Ten players have at least two points on the year, including nine goal scorers.
- Junior Paige Kieft and freshman Alyssa Klebasko continue to alternate games in the cage, as both goalkeepers have contributed to the teams three shutouts and two ranked victories. Kieft owns 20 saves on the year, while Klebasko holds a 0.42 goals-against-average.
Championship coaching
- Missy Meharg returns for her 36th season as head coach. A nine-time National Coach of the Year recipient, Meharg brings an unprecedented level of consistency and excellence to the Maryland field hockey program.
- Meharg became the third coach in Division I history to reach 600 wins in 2021. She is not shy of championships as she has led the Terps to seven national titles, including five in seven years, 12 conference tournament crowns, 15 conference regular season titles and 19 appearances in the NCAA Semifinals round, including 12 in the NCAA Finals.
- She is supported by associate head coach Scott Tupper (third season), assistant coach Kasey Tapman Asper (third season) and goalie specialist Natalie Hunter Cyrus (first season).
