Box Score COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Hope Rose starred for The No. 4 Terps (5-1) once again, notching her first career hat trick en route to a 3-1 win over Miami (Ohio) (3-2) to kick off the Terrapin Invitational in a game that was called just over 10 minutes early due to inclement weather in the area. 

Rose scored all three of the Terps' goals, doing so over the first three quarters. She now has eight of Maryland's 19 goals this season. The Terp defense was outstanding once again, only allowing two shots on goal.  

Maryland outshot the Redhawks 16-4 and earned five corners to their three. 

The game needed an extended halftime due to inclement weather in the area and then saw another storm delay with just over 10 minutes left in regulation. 

Breaking Down The Action

• The Terps struck first as a penalty corner resulted in a shot for Margot Lawn that rebounded in front of the net for Rose to finish. 
• Maryland carried a 2-0 lead into halftime as Rose added another off an assist from Ericka Morris-Adams. 
• Rose got her hat trick in the third off a smooth penalty stroke.
• Miami got its lone goal of the night late in the fourth, just before the weather break before the game was called. 

Series Success

• Maryland now owns a 3-0 all-time record over the Red Hawks.
• This was the first meeting between the two teams since 2015.
