series history
  • Competition with these two programs is fairly new for the Terrapins.
  • Maryland and Miami (OH) have only met two times prior to this weekend. The Terps hold a 2-0 advantage over the Red Hawks. The teams met for the first time in 2013 during the Terrapin Invitational. Maryland visited Miami (OH) in 2015 and claimed a 6-2 victory.
  • The 2015 victory over Miami (OH) was head coach Missy Meharg's 500th career win at Maryland. Meharg has since reached over 600 wins in her 36th year at the helm.
  • Sunday afternoon will serve as the first-ever meeting between Maryland and Yale. The Bulldogs come to College Park with a 1-1 overall record in 2023, after finishing the 2022 campaign 9-8.

standout performances
  • Freshman Josie Hollamon has started in all five games at center back. She scored the game-winner against Boston College, tallying her first career goal. Hollamon found the back of the cage on a penalty corner from a direct insert from sophomore Hannah Boss
  • Junior Hope Rose leads the roster with 11 points from five goals and one assist. Rose owns multiple two-score games, already, with a season-high five points against UC Davis.
  • Freshman Maci Bradford leads the Big Ten in assists with an average of .800 per game. She, also, sits eighth overall in the conference with a 1.60 points per game average. Bradford's latest point came against the Blue Devils where she assisted graduate student Ashlyn Carr's first goal in a Maryland uniform.
  • Freshman Alyssa Klebasko finished her first career start with a shutout victory over Boston College. The Odenton, Maryland native, has collected seven saves in four games.
  • The Maryland defensive unit led by Nathalie Fiechter, Maura Verleg and Rayne Wright have continued to disrupt their opponents' offensive pressure. Maryland opponents have collected 18 penalty corner opportunities through five games, with only one conversion allowed.
  • The Terps share the wealth across the roster with depth running through it. Eleven players have at least two points on the year, including nine goal scorers.
