Terps Wrap Up Competition at Hokie Invite

BLACKSBURG, VA - The Maryland track and field team finished competition strongly at the Hokie Invite, highlighted by impressive performances from Jayla Bynum, Anna Coffin, and Rhys Allen.
 
Allen started the day off for the Terps in the men's shot put, where he set a new personal best and finished in second place, tossing 16.72m.
 
Bynum tied her personal-best already fifth all-time mark in the women's shot put with a throw of 15.70m, which was also good for second place, and the top collegiate thrower in the event. 
 
Coffin finished third in the women's 800m, setting a new personal best, with an impressive time of 2:12.62.

"This has been a successful start to the winter season. I am proud of how everyone is stepping up in their respective events."
 
Up Next: The Terps will be back next weekend, January 26th and 27th, in New York competing at the Dr. Sanders Invite hosted by Columbia University.
