COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Three members of the Maryland football team have been named Academic All-District, as announced by College Sports Communicators. The 2023 Academic All‐District Team recognizes the nation's top student‐athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Representing the Terrapins are sophomore long snapper
Ethan Gough, sophomore running back
Roman Hemby and junior defensive back
Dante Trader Jr. Each student-athlete was also selected as CSC Academic All-America finalists and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members.
To be considered for a CSC Academic All-District Team, nominees must be at least a sophomore with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at their current institution. They also must have competed in 90 percent of the institution's games/contests played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the games/contests.
First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced Jan. 23, 2024.
