Five former Maryland men's basketball standouts got off to impressive starts to the NBA season. There were multiple strong performances from former Terps in the NBA's Opening Week. As Bruno Fernando heads into his 5th season in the NBA, his first with the Toronto Raptors, he has averaged 5.3 rebounds, and 11 minutes per game. A key player for the Raptors off the bench, Fernando is averaging 4.7 points per game, as well as 1 block per game. On opening night for the Raptors, Fernando scored six points while grabbing seven rebounds in 15 minutes of action

Kevin Huerter has hit the ground running in the first games of his 6th NBA season, his 3rd with the Sacramento Kings. He is averaging 26.3 minutes a game and has been Sacramento's best 3-point scorer thus far. Huerter is averaging 11.3 points per game, and 2.7 3s made per game. Huerter dropped 18 points on 58% shooting from the field in a 111-98 win over the Portland Trailblazers on Oct. 28.
Alex Len is in his 11th season in the NBA, and his 4th on the Sacramento Kings. He is currently the longest tenured Terrapin in the NBA. Len is currently shooting over 40% from the field to start the season while averaging 2.3 rebounds.

On 10/28, Smith scored 16 points on an efficient 80% shooting percentage and shot 3-4 from 3 in just 12 minutes played.
