Hope Rose Earns Solomon Eye Physicians & Surgeons Terp of the Week Honors

COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Each week during the 2024-25 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Physicians & Surgeons Terp of the Week.

This week's Terp of the Week is Hope Rose from field hockey.

Rose had an impressive weekend, scoring three goals in two away games against Indiana and No. 10 Iowa.  On Friday, she opened the scoring for the Terps in the first quarter and added another goal in the 36th minute to help Maryland defeat Indiana 3-0.  On Sunday, Rose netted a late goal in the fourth quater against Iowa, bringing her season total to a team-leading five goals.  She also recorded her first assist of the season in Maryland's 5-0 win over Iowa.

The Dauphin, Pennsylvania, native has earned All-American honors for three-consecutive years. Last season, Rose collected multiple recognitions throughout her junior season, including All-Big Ten First Team and NFHCA Mid-Atlantic Region First Team. She was named to the first team during her sophomore year and earned second team honors during her freshman season.

Maryland field hockey is back in action on Friday, as they travel to East Lansing, Michigan to face off against Michigan State. The game is slated for 3:00 p.m. and will be broadcast on Big Ten Plus.
