Three Terps Earn NFHCA All-American Honors

Hollamon named NFHCA All-American First Team

COLLEGE PARK, MD – Three Maryland field hockey players were named 2024 NFHCA All-Americans, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.

Josie Hollamon, a sophomore defender, was named to the 2024 Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-American First Team.

The Delmar, Delaware, native received All-American honors for the first time in her career after an impressive season. Hollamon, who was also named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, anchored Maryland's defense by starting every game, shutting down some of the top offensive threats nationwide, and contributing offensively with five goals and five assists. She earned All-Big Ten First Team honors for the first time as well.

Hope Rose earned Second Team All-American honors after another standout season. The senior forward led the Terrapins in scoring for the second consecutive year, recording 11 goals and two assists in 17 games. Rose was named to the All-Big Ten First Team for the second time in her career and was recognized as Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week this past season. A four-time NFHCA All-American, Rose earned First Team honors last season and has been a consistent leader for Maryland, earning All-American recognition for four consecutive years.

Graduate student Emma DeBerdine was named to the NFHCA All-American Third Team, capping off a decorated career. Returning to Maryland for her final year of eligibility after competing for Team USA in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, DeBerdine earned All-Big Ten First Team honors for the third time. The Lancaster, Pennsylvania, native started 92 of her 93 career games, tallying 74 points on 23 goals and 28 assists. A three-time NFHCA All-American, DeBerdine adds this honor to her long list of accolades, which includes three All-Big Ten selections.

Maryland field hockey finished the 2024 season 13-7, with a 6-2 conference record. The Terps earned their 36th trip to the NCAA Tournament.
