Braxton Brown Goes 3-0, No. 24 Terps Complete Rider Quad

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – No. 17 Braxton Brown (133) led the way for the Terps as they wrestled No. 18 Pittsburgh, Rider and No. 14 South Dakota State as part of the Rider Quad.
In the team's last action before the new year, Brown won all three of his matches on the day, including two wins over ranked opponents and two wins by bonus points. Ethen Miller (157) and Seth Nevills (285) each went 2-0, with Miller besting a pair of ranked opponents and Nevills downing a top-15 opponent in Dayton Pitzer of Pittsburgh.
In the Terps' first match of the day, a 25-12 loss to No. 18 Pittsburgh, Jaxon Smith and Nevills added huge boosts to their resumes with wins over top-15 opponents. Brown and Ethen Miller also picked up ranked wins for the Terps.
The Terps fell to host school Rider in a narrow match, 18-17. Ethen Miller picked up another ranked win in the match while Brown, Branson John, Chase Mielnik and Nevills all notched wins as well, with Brown's victory coming via technical fall.
In the final match of the day, South Dakota State defeated Maryland. Brown had the highlight win of the match, dominating No. 22 Derrick Cardinal en route to a 14-2 major decision. Kal Miller also picked up a clutch win in sudden victory.
