Four Terps Earn NFHCA Mid-Atlantic Team Honors

COLLEGE PARK, MD – Four members of the Maryland field hockey program were named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association's All-Mid Atlantic Region Teams, as announced by the organization on Wednesday.

Emma DeBerdine, Hope Rose and Josie Hollamon were named to the First Team, while Alyssa Klebasko earned Second Team honors.

DeBerdine, returned to College Park for her final year of eligibility after representing the United States in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. DeBerdine earned All-Big Ten First Team honors for the third time in her career. The Lancaster, Pennsylvania native, has started in 92 of the 93 games she played in, tallying 74 points from 23 goals and 28 assists. DeBerdine has multiple accolades during her undergraduate career, including two NFHCA All-American honors and now three All-Big Ten recognitions.

Rose, a senior forward, led the Terps in scoring for the second straight season.  Rose was named to the All-Big Ten First Team for the second time in her career. She was named Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in her career this past week and has led the Terps in scoring with 11 goals and two assists in 17 games. A three-time NFHCA All-American, Rose earned First Team honors last season and was recognized as a Big Ten Player to Watch before the season.


Hollamon, a sophomore defender, was named to the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year. A staple on defense, Hollamon started every game, shutting down top offensive players nationwide, and contributing offensively with five goals and five assists. Hollamon earned All-Big Ten First Team honors for the first team in her career.

Klebasko, a sophomore goalkeeper, has started in the majority of games for the Terps and earned All-Big Ten Second Team honors this season. She ranks third in the conference in goals-against average (.960).

Maryland field hockey finished the 2024 season 13-7, with a 6-2 conference record. The Terps earned their 36th trip to the NCAA Tournament.
