Pro Terps Update: Terps Playing Big Roles Throughout NBA

BRUNO FERNANDO – TORONTO RAPTORS
Monday, Dec. 9 - vs. New York Knicks
Thursday, Dec. 12 - at Miami Heat
Sunday, Dec. 16 - vs. Chicago Bulls

 
Due to an ankle injury, Fernando was sidelined for two games (11/18, 11/21). In his return on 11/25 against the Pistons in Detroit, Fernando had a big impact off the bench, racking up nine points, four rebounds, and five assists. This marks his season-best in both points and assists. Fernando put up four points in both of the Raptors' last two games, with a combined eight rebounds, two blocks, and two steals.
KEVIN HUERTER / ALEX LEN – SACRAMENTO KINGS
Thursday, Dec. 12 - at New Orleans Pelicans
Monday, Dec. 16 - vs. Denver Nuggets
Thursday, Dec. 19 - vs. Los Angeles Lakers


Huerter is continuing to shoot well, now averaging 9.3 points per game. After suffering an ankle injury during the Kings game against the Trailblazers on 11/29, Huerter did not return to the court until 12/3. Coming off the injury, he played a great game against the Rockets, scoring 13, along with two rebounds, two assists, one block, and onesteal. He has consistently played well since, scoring 22 points, grabbing nine rebounds, and dishing out three assists across his last two games.

Len got his second start of the season on 11/18 against the Hawks and played 17 minutes, in which he contributed 3 blocks and 3 rebounds. At this point in the season, Len is still averaging roughly two points and two rebounds per game.
 
 
JALEN SMITH – CHICAGO BULLS
Friday, Dec. 13 - vs. Charlotte Hornets

Smith is continuing to prove himself as an efficient center off the bench for the Bulls. He is currently averaging 7.9 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. Smith suffered a minor ankle injury, resulting in him being ruled out for the Bulls game against the Bucks on 11/20. Smith had a big impact in a win against the Wizards on 11/26, scoring 12 points with two assists, one block, and a season high nine rebounds. Smith has maintained his performance as a consistent scorer and rebounder for the Bulls, averaging 8.2 points and 6.2 rebounds over his last 5 appearances.
AARON WIGGINS – OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER
Tuesday, Dec. 10 - vs. Dallas Mavericks
Thursday, Dec. 19 - at Orlando Magic
Friday, Dec. 20 - at Miami Heat


Wiggins has accumulated 3 more game starts, and has been productive off the bench in all other appearances. He's currently averaging 9.8 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. Wiggins was extremely effective off the bench in a game against the Jazz on 12/3 where he racked up four rebounds, three steals, one block, one assist, and a season-high 16 points all in 22 minutes.

Since signing a two-way contract, Young has been playing well in the G League for the Grand Rapids Gold. He is currently averaging 27.8 minutes and 18.6 points per game, shooting just under 50% from the FG range. Young is proving himself as an extremely effective point guard, showcasing his talent in a recent performance against the Wisconsin Herd (12/5) where he racked up 26 points, six rebounds, six assists, and two steals. Young's scoring has been consistent for the Gold, having scored 20+ points in 5 of his last 6 games.
Donta Scott – Santa Cruz Warriors
Monday, Dec. 9 - at Rip City Remix
Wednesday, Dec. 11 - at Stockton Kings
Saturday, Dec. 14 - vs. San Diego Clippers


Scott is currently playing for the Santa Cruz Warriors, and is averaging 21.4 minutes, 7.5 points, and 4.1 rebounds per game. Scott had a great performance off the bench on 11/23 against the Salt Lake City Stars where he scored 14 points along with five rebounds, 2 assists, and one block. Scott has been a consistent rebounder and scorer for the Warriors, racking up between three and seven rebounds every game this season, and scoring 9+ points in 5 of the team's 9 games.
