Maryland (5-10) fell behind early after Washington (13-2) scored seven runs in the second inning. The Terps were unable to bridge the gap.
Jaeda McFarland, Sydney Lewis and Sammi Woods were three Terps to record hits. Lewis hammered a double and McFarland added a stolen base.
Washington's only losses this season have come against No. 1 Oklahoma and No. 7 Oklahoma State.M4 | Sydney Lewis with a double in the gap in left field would put a runner in scoring position for the Terps with one out.

Breaking Down The Action
- Jaeda McFarland opened the game with a single and stole second for her fourth stolen base of the year.
- Washington scored first in the bottom of the second. A runner stole second base and the throw opened the opportunity for a runner on third to steal home. The baserunner slid and avoided the tag to score. The Huskies then loaded the bases with one out and drew a walk to score another run. The Terps got a force out at home, but two singles and a triple scored five combined runs shortly after. Washington climbed a 7-0 lead with its big inning.
- Washington added another run on the fourth on a sacrifice fly. It led 8-0 leading into the fifth.

- Jaeda McFarland is fourth in school history in stolen bases with 55 and is only six from passing Jenny Belak (2005-08) and claiming third place on Maryland's all-time list.
- Courtney Wyche struck out two batters in the game to increase her career total to 463, which is sixth all-time. She's 29 strikeouts away from passing Monica Cyphert (2001-04) for fifth all-time.
- Wyche is also seventh on the all-time innings pitched list. She has pitched 483.2 innings and is 35.9 innings from passing Monica Cyphert (2001-04).
